Through my art, I try to capture what I see when I look at the world that has been created. Beauty, love, gentleness, kindness, and redemption are there — always. But look deeply into the eyes of the startled doe as she stares back at you… study the way a tree leans, or how the petals of a flower bend. Breathe in the air around the mountain, feel your foot sink into soft winter snow, or soar on the wings of a bird. When you pause long enough, you see more than the surface.

The fox freezing mid‑step to listen and watch, the spider weaving its perfect orb — life’s will to survive, its passion to repeat itself, to create copies that carry the species forward, is always beneath the quiet moments.

And yet, creation holds its harsher truths as well. Storms tear trees from the ground by their roots. Rains carve and mold rocks and canyons. Winds shear at the earth and everything that inhabits it. Alongside beauty, there is an underlying awareness of violence, destruction, and death.

I sketch, paint and photograph the world as it is — gentle and fierce, fragile and unyielding — because every moment, whether soft or storm‑torn, is part of the story creation tells.
